The 2016 Election: I’m over it

There is something extremely unsettling about writing a title that says “I’m over it”. This is the first presidential election I have ever voted in and it will be forever marked in my mind. Let me just clarify, I am what I would consider an Independent, but I lean toward a more Republican candidate. But I can not vote for a man like Donald Trump and I did not want to vote for someone like Hillary Clinton. I love my country very much and I am not trying to persuade anyone because that is not who I am. The vote is your vote. I do think that Hillary is a corrupt politician but I would not consider Trump one. For someone who claims that he wants to, “Make America great again”, all he has done is bring out the worst in our country. He is someone who encourages violent acts against other people and has gotten so far under peoples skin that he has made people who I would consider, level headed people, not seem that way anymore. Joe Biden said while campaigning for Clinton that he would rather take Trump behind the gym then to debate and run against him. This is coming from the current Vice President of United States and is extremely unnerving for the usually level headed man we have seen. I think the fact that Trump is a disgusting human being, who considers sexual assault as locker talk. If the 12 women who have spoken out about his treatment of them is even true is one thing but I will not push aside the video recording. For other people to agree with the fact that it is “locker room talk” says a lot about those peoples characters in my opinion. Clinton is no better in some cases though. The email scandal has followed her the entire election posing more then one question about her and her campaign party. She tries to back fire at Trump during the debates by stooping to his level with side comments. Each candidate has issues, truthfully I don’t care who wins at this point. Either one will be a historical president for their own reasons. But I am over this election. I did my civic duty and I hope everyone else does. We all have our own voice and I may not agree with you on every single thing but, I will respect your views what ever they may be.
